We’ve blogged about the SE W880i before, back when it was just an initial rumor and when new pictures were set loose on the web. Well guess what! It just got approved by the FCC!

When handsets are approved, useful documentation (like user manuals and etc) usually appear on the FCC site, but there isn’t much of anything there this time, which begs the question: What makes the W880i so special? We know that basic specs include a 1.8″ QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro support and Java MIDP 2.0 capability, but why the FCC decided not to post anything additional is beyond us.

The super-slim walkman phone will be available soon so hopefully we’ll be able to answer all our questions then. When exactly it will be available and for how much is still up in the air. Stay tuned for updates.
