But this is not one of those times since I just spotted an absolutely astonishing case or the good old Apple phone that just blew me away with its innovativeness. Called ToughSkin, the all new rugged case for the iPhone 3G features a rubberized case with a rather quirky textured pattern that not only protects your iPhone from accidental bumps and drops but also offers you full access to buttons and controls.
Christened the Rapture VU30, the sleek shiny and slim clamshell supports CDMA dual band (800/1900 MHz) networks as well as EVDO and 3G. Adorned with a 2-megapixel camera featuring digital zoom, the phone also comes laced with a video and MP3player, stereo Bluetooth, A-GPS as well as support for microSD and microUSB making it pretty packed for a mid-level clamshell. Of course these are all just preliminary reports and we will all have to wait for full specs release to know all about this wonderful phone but we can sure wait for that a while.

This Quad-band GSM also comes with 3G with HSDPA support and is able to record VGA videos at 30fps. I think the LG KC910 is a perfect cell phone. However, there is no info on pricing at this time. The phone will be released n October 2008.

Chuck those digital point-and-shoot cameras and pick up an LG KC910 instead! With an 8MP camera, the calling ability of this mobile phone is perhaps just a complement. LG makes no bones about the image-friendly nature of this Viewty successor. It features a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a xenon flash, VGA video recording at 30fps, high-speed 120fps filming (at QVGA resolution) and an ISO limit of 1600. Like all gadgets of today, the KC910 also incorporates GPS, which serves imaging needs again. You can geo-tag all the locations you have visited during a photographic escapade. A colossus among multimedia phones, this LG product supports Dolby sound for music, as well as DivX and XviD for video. Manual focus, face, smile and blink detection and a digital image stabilizer are some of the other features offered by this phone.

The LG KC910 is also wireless-enabled. It supports quad-band GSM and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi. Memory is taken care of by a microSD slot (for storage up to 8GB). The most interesting aspect of the KC910 is its physical dimensions. Contradictory to its loaded interior, the phone measures just 14mm in thickness. A 3-inch WQVGA 240×400 touch display further adds to its appeal. An October debut has been predicted for the LG KC910. Photography buffs, keep your fingers crossed!

Don’t know about you, but lately I like Motorola’s accessories more than their phones. Now the struggling American handset maker is partnering with Jay-Z to release the branded Bluetooth headphones. We’re not sure how exactly the famous rapper helped Moto in making of this headset, but we know it looks kinda weird on FCC pages. These are A2DP stereo Bluetooth compatible headphones and we’re not sure when we’ll see them officially announced. We are sure, though, Motorola won’t be quiet once all the paperwork is done and the headset is ready for the prime time…

Needless to say, he loves the Windows Mobile smartphone, even though he would prefer the European version of the device with shapes like a diamond on the back. However, I don’t see that as a big minus, if that’s a minus at all.

Anyway, MobileSyrup’s 7-minute long video starts now. Enjoy it. And don’t forget, you can grab the HTC Touch Diamond from Telus from CA$149.99 with a three-year contract, CA$349.99 on a 2-year contract, or for CA$399.99 on a 1-year contract. Finally, for those that don’t like binding themselves with any kinds of agreements, the device is available for CA$449.99 sans any contracts signed… And now the video.

MobileMe is something of a stain on Apple’s iPhone 3G launch festivities. Having bitten off more than they could chew, Cupertino struggled to get their iPhone 3G fleet activated, iPhones updated, and MobileMe up and running all at the same time. Needless to say, there are MobileMe customers still bitter over their first (for many) experience with Apple’s cloud-based data services.

So, what is Apple doing? Well, they made that surprising move to bust out of their shell of cold-shouldered secrecy and admitted to their mistakes. Steve Jobs commissioned a MobileMe status blog to let the world know exactly what was wrong with the service and what Apple was doing to fix it.
