Although this would have been a perfect Valentine’s Day launch but Pantech seems to have felt that romance is present all the time and no part of the year is devoid of this feeling and so to add more warmth this summer, they have launched their outstanding Love Canvas IM – R300 mobile phone. The specialty of this phone is that unlike other mobile phone models launched by reputed brands that are either multi-media centric or games centric, the Pantech IM – R300 is love centric. Besides sending the usual texts and messages, one can send emoticons and can even express the emotional status through vibrations.

A middling midrange cell phone, the Pantech Breeze is misleadingly marketed as dead simple to use. While it’s certainly not complex, it’s no Samsung Jitterbug, a handset that’s truly designed for the technophobic. Measuring 4 by 2 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and weighing 3.4 ounces, the Breeze is a slim, handsome flip phone sporting a white pearlescent sheen. There’s a dim 1.04-inch-diagonal external screen on the outside. Flip the handset open to see its first effort at simplicity: three quick-dial buttons marked 1, 2, and 3. They sit below a big-enough, bright-enough, 2.2-inch LCD. The main keypad buttons are also sizable, and they’re nicely spread out for a comfortable, tactile feel. On the side of the handset, you’ll find a slender volume button and a nonstandard headphone jack.

Dual-sliders aren’t exactly taking the handset market by storm, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t at least a handful of you out there that love having a keypad and keyboard on the same device. And, keeping the dream of hybrid keypad/keyboard devices alive, Pantech has just pushed their Pantech Duo 2 through the FCC.

The FCC filing shows that the Pantech Duo 2 sports GSM frequency support on the 850 and 1900Mhz bands, which makes AT&T essentially a lock to pick up the successor to the Pantech Duo. But, aside from having Bluetooth and five screws hidden under the battery, Pantech and the FCC are mum on what the Pantech Duo 2 will be bringing to the table.

As much as I like the idea of having a keypad and keyboard mated to the same device, the additional bulk that the hybrid design brings with it is going to keep me from using any hybrid keypad/keyboard device as my primary handset. Is anyone actually looking forward to the Pantech Duo 2? Sound off in the comments section

Bone conduction involves conducting sound to the inner ear through the bones of the skull. This concept is nothing new when it comes to earphones or hearing aids. Many gadgets have incorporated this technology in the past, the newest of which is the Pantech A1407PT. It uses bone conduction loudspeakers which channel sound through your bones from just behind your ear, which enables users to hear better in noisy environments. It this clamshell also carries a 2.4-inch screen and a 1.3 megapixel camera.

A new handset, what looks to be a dual-slider, was recently spotted on the FCC website in Helio clothing. Internally being reffered to as the Pantech PN-810, sports a design similar to Samsung’s F520. In portrait view, sliding the top most layer up reveals the number pad, and sliding the top layer in landscape mode reveals a QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard includes a dedicated emoticon key, but no direct access to numbers.

Some of the known specs of this handset include EV-DO radio, a 2.1 megapixel camera with built in flash, and a 260k color TFT LCD display. More info to be posted when available.
